Do we need the NBA? More importantly… Do basketball players need the NBA? As I continue to watch the exodus to international basketball and the players that are continuing the tours, summer leagues and charity games, I find myself thinking about what happens if the NBA repeats 98-99 or the NHL’s season lost? While it’s not a lot of players going the international route, and you only really hear about the LeBron’s, Durant’s and John...

A once sure fire NBA talent has gone from young and promising to murder suspect. Friday night (August 26th), an arrest warrant was issued for Javaris Crittenton in connection to a drive-by shooting in Atlanta, GA on August 19th that killed a mother of four. Witnesses place him in the back of a black Tahoe and firing the shots. The drive-by according to police was believed to be retaliation for Crittenton being robbed in April....

There are very few women that draw respect in the sports world as equal if not superior to that of men. Pat Summitt is one. 8 NCAA Women’s Division I championships. 84.33% winning percentage. Focus on the one thing that is most important. In 2000 Pat Summitt was inducted to the basketball Hall of Fame. Not the women’s. The Hall of Fame. Transcending gender. That’s respect. At the University of Tennessee she is god. There...

What happened next will go down in the history books as one of the greatest performances in NBA history. But first, let’s go back in time a bit… Brandon Roy has always been a good player. No one is ever truly shocked when he comes up big in a game. But...

The worst thing that I have ever heard, was this weekend at the AAU tournament at the Capitol Sports Complex in District Heights Maryland, were the discussion of reclassified student/athletes by their parents to make sure they catch up in their basketball progress. This is a mess on behalf of selfish parents in living their dreams through minors and trying to purchase a lottery ticket with no guarantees. How dare you keep your child back...

Don’t look now… The Chicago Bulls are tied for the top spot in the Eastern Conference of the NBA. Tied with the Boston Celtics. Ahead of the Miami Heat, Orlando Magic and Atlanta Hawks. One year ago, no one would have thought this to be possible. Improved? Sure… This good? No way. The Chicago Bulls have evolved back into an Eastern Conference powerhouse. It has been 13 years since the Chicago Bulls put a banner...

Over the past month, I have seen more Washington, DC High School basketball games then I have ever saw in my life. 11 in the Month of February to be exact. From Dematha to Friendly, Gonzaga to my Alma Mater Eastern. This has been a very interesting and shocking experience. The game has changed so much since my days at Eastern High School. AAU Basketball seems to have effected the inner city schools more then some...
